Latest figures expose ‘champions’ of Jammu cause | Of 22 districts, Jammu tops list of jobless | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 21: Official figures reveal that the state still has more than 88 thousand registered jobless youth with Jammu topping the list in unemployment.
As pert the government data, out of the 22 districts of Jammu and Kashmir state, Jammu district has the highest number of jobless youth as out of 88 thousand unemployed people, more than 11 thousand are from Jammu district alone. Similarly, when two divisions of Jammu and Kashmir are compared, Jammu division has 45821 jobless people while as the number in Kashmir division is 42219.
The details have once again proved how the claims of Jammu's betterment have fallen flat and those who beat the trumpet of representing Jammu's aspirations have miserably failed to make any mark. The documents in possession of the Early Times newspaper have also pricked the balloon of equitable growth and development as against Srinagar's 5985 jobless youth, the number is double in Jammu district- 11072.

Jammu, Apr 21: In yet another instance of misappropriation of funds in the Rural Development and Panchati Raj Department, a former Assistant Commissioner development (ACD) Reasi, purchased 33 lacs interlocking tiles in a period of 10 months that too on exorbitant rate. Moreover the purchase of tiles from outside the district took huge toll on state exchequer in the form carriage charges paid by the department.
According to local tile manufacturing unit owner, Naman Bakhi for ACD M Y Malik, who had been booked by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for misappropriation of funds, had purchased over 30 lacs interlock tiles from a manufacturing unit situated in Khour.
