‘Political interference led to revocation of J&K Forest Corporation Act’ | | |

Jammu, Apr 22: The decision by Union Government to repeal the Jammu and Kashmir State Forest Corporation Act 1978 was reportedly taken to stop political interference in the functioning of the Corporation.
The Union government in the on 31st March, 2020 had issued a gazetted notification in exercise of the powers conferred by section 96 of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act 20199 (34 of 2019) had repealed as whole the Jammu and Kashmir State Forest Corporation Act 1978. Since then no further development about the future of the employees and officials has been taken, putting a question mark on the future of the employees of the corporation.

Jammu, Apr 22: The Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to resume the evaluation process of answer scripts of class 10 and 12 annual examinations held in the summer zones of Jammu division in ‘work from home’ model. The evaluators or sub-examiners can check the answer scripts at home as a one-time exception.
The decision has been taken in view of ongoing lockdown in view of the emerging situation due to the threat of coronavirus.

SRINAGAR, Apr 22: In view of the attack on security forces in Kashmir valley, the Central government has directed Paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other forces to maintain extra alertness while performing duties with regard to Covid-19 in Kashmir valley.
The CRPF lost its three men at Sopore area of north Kashmir on Saturday while performing their duties with regard to Covid-19.
Sources said that the government has asked troops in Kashmir to keep a close watch on suspects in markets and other busy places to foil all attempts by militants to target security forces.

JAMMU, Apr 22: The facility of e-pass, introduced in the district with effect from 13th of April 2020 initially for people residing in red/ Containment zones, shall now be extended to the entire district from tomorrow.

SRINAGAR, Apr 22: With 27 fresh cases of Corona Virus coming to fore from different parts of Kashmir today the number of people affected by COVID-19 in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir are 407.
At the same time Pulwama today became COVID-19 free after three positive patients recovered from the pandemic. The fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported from Shopian (14 cases), Bandipora (six cases), Kupwara (four cases), Baramulla (two cases) and Anantnag (one case).
