Jammu Health Department headless for past 23 days | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 23: Notwithstanding claims of the higher-ups to provide governance to the people, the Union Territory administration has failed to appoint new Director Health Services even after the passing of 23 days.
Highly placed sources said that it was all due to a lack of consensus among higher-ups in the administration no decision has been taken to the new Director Health Services. “All the potential candidates have the backing of different groups are in the race for this important post so higher-ups have yet not finalized any name”, sources said, adding, “Instead of taking any decision on the name of Director Health Services higher-ups is trying to adopt casual approach”
Interestingly, Union Government has already sounded alert due to a spike in COVID cases but those at the helm of the affairs in J&K have yet to take the issue seriously.

Poonch, Apr 23, Education Department illegally harassing student of School Education Department in Poonch. According to the sources from Mandi and Poonch, all the heads of the institutions are demanding income certificate as mandatory document for admission whereas there is no such goverment.
According to a local social activist Khalida Kouser, there are more than twenty five thousands of students under the jurisdiction of all the tehsils, and it is not possible for any revenue officials to issue more than 1500 income certificate only per day to these students.

Jammu, Apr 23: Initial investigation conducted by the security agencies confirmed that terrorists used steel bullets to ambush an Army truck in the border district of Poonch.
Steel core bullets, capable of piercing an armoured shield, were used by NATO forces during the Afghanistan war and these bullets are part of ammunitions NATO forces have abandoned after leaving Afghanistan.
Security forces observed that terrorists used American armour-piercing bullets during the attack on unarmed soldiers.

Jammu, Apr 23: A team of National Security Guards (NSG) have been pressed into the woods of Bhataduriyan to carry out the search operation to track the terrorists, who attacked the Army vehicle in which five soldiers attained martyrdom in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Help of drones and sniffer dogs is also being taken in the search operation.
However, as per police sources, two more suspects have also been detained as so far 14 people have been taken into custody for questioning.

Official sources on Sunday said that the first batch of Shri Buddha Amarnath Yatra is expected to leave Jammu for Poonch on August 18.
They said that formal Bhoomi Pujan for the yatra will be performed on August 17 and the yatra will continue till August 27. Jammu, Apr 23: A woman pilgrim was killed, and four others suffered injuries when their car collided with another vehicle on Katra-Jammu Road near Domail on the city outskirts of Jammu district.
Police said that a car collided with another vehicle near Muri area on the Katra-Domel road.
In the mishap, one woman identified as Shivani,21, resident of Himachal Pradesh have died while four others namely Vivek Kapoor (43), Muktrika Kapoor, Monika Kapoor and Rishita Kapoor (11), all residents of Noorpur, Himachal Pradesh sustained injuries.
