Faulty power bills leave consumers fuming | | |

JAMMU, Apr 25: Even as pathetic power supply has already irked Jammuites, who have come out openly against deteriorating power conditions in the city, in addition, people are also left fuming with faulty electricity bills.
A large number of people could be witnessed at the Power Development Department office in the Janipur area of the city to make enquiries with regard to inflated power bills.
A woman, who visited the PDD office in Janipur for correction of electricity bills that have jumped manifold in comparison to what she was getting routinely in the past giving her enough reasons to worry.
“The bill of January is showing units consumed on a higher side even though the Air Conditioners, fans and other appliances are not used at all,” she said.

Srinagar, Apr 25: Protests erupted in many parts of Kashmir on Monday as the power crisis continued to deteriorate during Ramzan.
In Srinagar, women took to streets in Maisuma, GawKadal and Habba Kadal areas. The traders in Baramulla and neighbouring Sopore towns in north Kashmir also staged a protest against the UT government for failing to make electricity available during the holy month. Jammu, Apr 25: Scores of people who had come to witness the musical fountain show at Baghe-Bahu on Sunday evening were left disappointed as the electricity went off within a few minutes after the show commenced.

Srinagar, Apr 25 :Militants on Monday evening hurled a grenade towards a police party in Padshahibagh area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
No one loss of life or injury was reported in the incident even as police party, mainly comprising its Special Operation Group, fired few rounds in air after the attack, official sources said. They said that grenade exploded at a distance from the police party and no casualty was reported.
