JAMMU, Apr 26: All eyes will be set on the Jammu and Kashmir administration as its Internet gag order is expiring today on April 27 and there are questions being raised about whether it will continue with its 2G policy or restore 4G services in the erstwhile state.
As per the official sources, the decision whether to continue the low speed mobile internet operational in Jammu and Kashmir or to restore 4G services will be taken on April 27 as the review order the government issued earlier is expiring that day.
On April 15, the Jammu and Kashmir dispensation had ordered the continuance of 2G mobile data services till April 27, even as the demand for restoration of high-speed 4G internet was growing in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The reason cited by government at that time was that social media was being misused by terror outfits to circulate photos and mobilize crowds, like was done in recent funeral of militant attended by about 500 people.

Instead of giving importance of ill-advice of some people, authorities are now taking all stakeholders into confidence before taking any final decision of this year’s Yatra.
Credible sources said that some organizations, involved in organizing langers on the route of Yatra, have given wrong information to the administration earlier and it was all due to that wrong information faux pas was witnessed earlier this week. “Now administration has decided to take all stakeholders into confidence”, sources said.

Sources informed Early Times that though the number of labourers of Jammu and Kashmir who left their homes for menial jobs or for doing other works in other states of the country, didn’t register themselves and went on their own. SRINAGAR, Apr 26: There seems to be no let up in the Corona Virus cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir as 29 more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the union territory in the past 24 hours.
Reports said that all the cases have been reported from the Kashmir valley with no fresh case coming to the fore from Jammu division. With the fresh cases the number of positive cases of Corona Virus in Jammu & Kashmir is 523. Out of this 380 cases are active in the union territory.

UDHAMPUR, Apr 26: Udhampur Administration today heaved a sigh of relief, when three more positive cases of COVID-19 were come out negative in tests. Despite this success against COVID-19, no relaxation has been announced by the administration.
Two of these positive cases were reported from Tikri area in tehsil Udhampur while one was from Ramnagar tehsil. All the infected persons had been under quarantine after they were found positive of COVID-19.
