Jammu, Apr 27: For three successive months Jammu and Kashmir spent crores and crores of rupees on publicity-both in print and electronic media, to create a fake impression that the power situation has been improved in the Union Territory. From January to March 2022, newspapers were flooded with advertisements, worth crores, issued on behalf of the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (JKPDCL) in which some consumers were quoted as claiming that the power situation in their respective areas has been improved after installation of electronic meters. JAMMU, Apr 27: Residents of Ward No 14 in Kathua city and locals of Samba town today held separate protest demonstrations against erratic power and water supply.
Protesting residents of Ward No 14, Kathua demanded proper supply of electricity and water so that the people who are facing immense hardships could heave a sigh of relief.
“We don’t have electricity and not a drop of water in our households. Life has become a hell for us. Government should take immediate steps to improve this pathetic situation,” said a local.
