‘Babu Raaj’ behind public alienation in JK, people tell Subramainyam Swamy | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 2: Even as Member Parliament and senior Bharatiya Janta Party leader Subramainyam Swami on April 2 visited Kashmir to attend Navratra celebrations, the top politician was told by people that “Babu giri” of some officials was a main reason behind the “growing public alienation” in Jammu and Kashmir and that Modi government must intervene.
During his address at a function held in connection with the Navratri celebrations in Srinagar, Swamy said the government was committed to the rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandits in their homeland and also ruled out the restoration of the pre-August 5, 2019 status of J&K.
While the event was attended by people from various sections of the society, before leaving back for New Delhi, he gave audience to scores of delegations who had come to meet him. Some of the delegations told Swamy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Naya Jammu and Kashmir was being “sabotaged” by a section in the administration, which is often accused of “ruthless corruption and maladministration.”

Srinagar, Apr 2: Anti Corruption Bureau arrested a Village Level Worker, Rural Development Department in Kashmir for accepting a bribe.
The ACB said Sahil Sagar, VLW Block Paran Pilan, Uri in Baramulla district was demanding a bribe from a local resident for processing his case under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) scheme.
ACB said a resident of Bandi Gujjar Basti, Uri alleged that Sahil demanded Rs 20,000 as bribe from him and had already paid Rs 13000 on March 29, 2022.
