Kishtwar, Apr 29: Amid COVID-19 outbreak, a 53 year old West Bengal resident, who died two days ago in Kishtwar, was denied a burial here after some people objected saying that the graveyard is not meant for outsiders.
As per the details available with Early Times, the 53 year old Allah u Din, a resident of Kolkata in West Bengal was working as Mason and had arrived in Kishtwar in February— weeks well before the lockdown was announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He had no presentable history or symptoms of COVID 19, yet some “extra cautious” neighbours made it seem that he was a suspect. He was brought dead to the hospital— inspite of the fact that he wasn't line listed, and had stayed here since January or according to some accounts early February.
His corpse was sampled for virus for Command Hospital Udhampur which turned out to be negative.

Jammu, Apr 29: With five cases recovered and discharged from hospital today, Jammu division in showing a way to the whole nation in dealing with dreaded Covid-19 because out of total 58 positive cases only 10 cases is active today.
Situation is very encouraging in Jammu district where out of 26 positive cases, 23 have been recovered and only three active cases have been left. Similarly in Udhampur district out of total 20 cases, 16 have been cured, one dead and only three cases have been active till date. Srinagar, Apr 29: Amid surge in COVID-19 cases, less than three percent patients needed the ventilator support in Jammu and Kashmir and the recovery percentage of the Union Territory is better than national average.
Over 580 people have been tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir. However, only around three percent patients needed ventilator support.
“People should not worry Kashmir over shortage of ventilators. Only critical care patients need the ventilator support,” an official of Health Department said.

SRINAGAR, Apr 29: As 16 fresh cases of Corona Virus came to the fore from five different districts of Kashmir valley today the number of positive cases of COVID-19 reached 581. At the same time more than 33 percent patients have recovered from Corona Virus in the union territory.
Reports said that fresh cases were reported from Anantnag, Budgam, Srinagar, Baramulla and Kulgam districts of Kashmir valley. While nine cases were reported from Anantnag district in South Kashmir, four such cases came to fore from Budgam district in Central Kashmir.
