Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 5: Even as Kashmir continues to witness a deadly spike in militant attacks, New Delhi is believed to be upset with the handling of situation by the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, the Early Times learnt from top sources. The sources said the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Home Affairs in particular, are “upset the way the situation is taking ugly turn” in the valley. Sources said some top functionaries have held telephonic deliberations with the Raj Bhawan to discuss the evolving situation. Sources said at least two “very important calls” from New Delhi were received by the Raj Bhawan in this regard. The sources in New Delhi said Lieutenant Governor was likely to be “summoned” to the national capital for direct deliberations on the “unfolding situation” in the coming days. “There has been no dearth of resources (from New Delhi), so why are things taking such a turn needs to be looked into?” said a source privy to the corridors of power in New Delhi. Agencies New Delhi, Apr 5: Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday said in the Lok Sabha that in the aftermath of the Russia-Ukraine war, petrol prices in India have gone up by merely 5 per cent as against over 50 per cent in some of the developed countries.
