Jammu, Apr 5: As only two weeks are left for polling on the prestigious Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, this parliamentary constituency is again witnessing fierce battle between two Rajputs.
Although Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) candidate G M Saroori is also in the fray, the real fight is between sitting Lok Sabha member and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and Congress candidate Choudhary Lal Singh.
The prestigious Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat is witnessing a fierce electoral battle among candidates belonging to the ‘warrior clan’.
Main political players have chosen candidates from the Rajput community to turn this constituency as ‘battlefield’ for their nominees. BJP has repeated Union Minister, Dr. Singh on this constituency while as Congress, this time fielded two-time Lok Sabha member of this seat, Choudhary Lal Singh.

Jammu, Apr 5: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday trapped and arrested a revenue official in a bribery case in Kathua district here.
An official handout said that the ACB team received an online complaint from a resident of Machhedi alleging that Patwari Gulshan Singh has been demanding a Rs 5,000 bribe for issuing a Virsati Inteqal mutation and legal heir certificate.
The ACB got into action when the Patwari allegedly demanded a balance of Rs 3,000 from the complainant for issuing the documents after an initial Rs 2,000 payment. A case was registered at Police Station ACB Central.

NEW DELHI, Apr 5:
India on Friday removed export curbs on specified quantity of certain commodities such as eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, wheat flour, sugar, and dal for Maldives during the current fiscal year.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in a notification said these exports have been permitted to Maldives under bilateral trade agreement between the countries during 2024-25. “Export of eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, wheat flour, sugar, dal, stone aggregate and river sand have been permitted to Maldives… The export of these items to Maldives will be exempted from any existing or future restriction/prohibition on export,” the DGFT said.

Police said they received a complaint from Kaiser Ahmad Waza of Tawheed Chowk Ganderbal on Tuesday, stating therein that his sister-in-law came to his house as a guest and stole gold ornaments that were kept in the locker of his room.
