Jammu, Apr 6: Conspiously being absent from the ongoing protest of the party against policies of the Union Government, some Congress, who had earlier deserted the party and rejoined, are in touch with some BJP leaders to make entry into the Saffron Party.
Highly placed sources said that some ex-loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad, who had resigned from the party and later rejoined the party ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, are trying to join BJP for a better political career.
“As of now, BJP leadership has not shown much interest in taking these leaders in the party who have backstabbed their political mentor Ghulam Nabi Azad”, sources said and added that former loyalists of Azad wanted assurance of party mandates before joining BJP.
Sources said that BJP leadership has made it clear that these leaders are ready to join the party but without much fanfare and publicity. “BJP will take these leaders in the party as routine joining and they will not promise party mandate in the next assembly elections”, sources said.

Srinagar, Apr 6: Gujarat Police on Thursday took the custody of alleged conman Kiran Patel to probe a case of fraud registered.
Patel, who took the security apparatus in Jammu and Kashmir for a ride by impersonating as an Additional Director for strategy and campaigns in the Prime Minister's Office, was arrested by J&K police on March 3 and was lodged in Srinagar central jail. Srinagar, Apr 6: Security forces have arrested a militant associated of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered explosive and ammunition from his possession in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, an official said on Thursday.
The police official said that "on a specific information regarding movement of terrorists in Aloosa area of Bandipora, a special checkpoint was established near Canal Road Aloosa, jointly by Police, 26 Assam Rifles & 3rd Bn CRPF. During checking, one terrorist associate linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT was apprehended".

New Delhi, Apr 6: The CBSE has revamped its assessment scheme for class 10 and 12 board exams to be conducted in 2024 by introducing more Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and reducing the weightage for questions requiring short or long answers, according to officials.
The move is aimed at progressively aligning assessment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommendations, they said.
The change, however, might be limited to 2023-24 academic session only as the board exams are likely to be reformed next year with the introduction of new National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
