BJP ‘declares’ support to Apni Party, PC on Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla seats | Lok Sabha Polls | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 10: Notwithstanding guarded silence maintained by the party leaders, BJP has unofficially declared support to the Apni Party candidates for Anantnag-Rajouri and Srinagar Lok Sabha seats, and the Peoples Conference candidate for Baramulla Parliamentary.
Zaffar Iqbal Manhas and Mohammad Ashraf Mir are the Apni Party candidates for the Anantnag-Rajouri and Srinagar-Budgam Lok Sabha seats.
Peoples’ Conference chief and former minister Sajad Gani Lone is the party’s candidate for north Kashmir’s Baramulla seat where he is fighting against former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Highly placed sources said that instead of making any official statement party leadership has decided to trickle down this message through booth-level workers.
“Senior leaders would only focus their attacks on the National Conference, Congress, and the Peoples Democratic Party leaders while grassroots level workers coordinate with the Apni Party workers to ensure a smooth transfer of BJP votes”, a source told The Early Times.

Baramulla, May 10: Strong winds on Friday hit parts of north Kashmir including Baramulla district, causing damage to property, officials said.
An official said, gusty winds caused damage to property including the residential houses in several parts of north Kashmir.

A meteorological department official here said that while generally dry weather is expected in the next 24 hours, there is possibility of “isolated light rain” in J&K.
