Deaths going unabated in GMC Jammu; Inhuman Babus still ‘clueless’ | Over 41% of total deaths recorded in GMC only | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 14: Although meetings and follow-up meetings of Babus are going on for the last month, yet deaths of COVID patients in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu are going unabated.
Shockingly out of total of 742 COVID deaths reported in J&K in the month of May, 310 were recorded from GMC only-which is 41.77 percent of the total deaths in this month.
Babus are repeatedly claiming that there is no shortage of oxygen in GMC but they are failed to give reason for ‘slaying’ of helpless poor patients, who could not afford treatment in private hospitals due to their economic conditions.
Highly placed sources said that there is a big flaw in the existing infrastructure which causing the deaths of such a huge number of patients. Some family members of deceased COVID patients have also raised doubt over the adequate flow of oxygen in the dedicated COVID wards.

Jammu, May 14: A few days after a Bharatiya Janta Party leader from Jammu leveled serious allegations against his senior colleague in the central government, the BJP leadership in Kashmir has questioned the government over other issues.
The Kashmir chapter of the BJP has suddenly reacted against government over lockdown, when the Jammu leaders have called for an inquiry into allegations of corruption.
In a handout the BJP leaders said “People of Kashmir are confused about implementation of lockdown because it is not applicable on ground” adding that the “administration has failed to contain the virus at all ends.”

Anantnag, May 14: A 45-year-old man in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district died after an ambulance driver of the Health Department allegedly refused to take him to hospital suspecting that he was a coronavirus patient.
Deceased Mukhtar Ahmad Khari, resident of Bachkannard Gadool Tribal village of Kokernag was sick and needed immediate hospitalization. However the family members and relatives of the deceased alleged that the ambulance driver refused to take him to hospital causing his death.

Leh, May 14: Three more patients died of coronavirus in Ladakh, taking the death toll in the union territory to 161, while the infection count reached 15,916 with 109 fresh cases, officials said on Friday.
Of the 109 new cases, 86 were reported in Leh district and 23 in Kargil district, they said.
There are now 1,547 -- 1279 in Leh and 268 in Kargil -- active coronavirus cases in the UT, the officials said.
As many as 82 patients in Leh and 24 in Kargil were discharged after they were cured of the infection in the past 24 hours, they said.
A total of 14,208 persons have been cured in Ladakh so far, the officials added.
