Congress leaders ‘dump’ party candidate in Kargil | No senior leader accompanies during campaigning | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 14: Congress candidate for the Ladakh Lok Sabha Tsering Namgyal seat faced embarrassment today as none of his senior party colleagues from Kargil accompanied him when he reached the district for campaigning.
Tsering Namgyal along with some of his supporters reached Kargil today to mobilize support in this part of Ladakh where all political and religious organizations have offered unconditional support to the National Conference leader Haji Hanifa Jaan, who is contesting the Lok Sabha election as an Independent candidate. After reaching Kargil Tsering Namgyal reached the headquarters of the Islamia School to seek support of this important institute. “I met Sheikh Nazir Sahib head of the Islamia School to seek his support”, Tsering Namgyal told media persons. Interestingly none of the senior Congress leaders from Kargil were seen with Tsering Namgyal.
Later Namgyal visited different localities of Kargil town but senior party leaders avoided him during the campaigning.

Srinagar, May 14: Election authorities in J&K have received 234 complaints of violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) since March 16.
According to the officials, authorities have registered 11 FIRs in connection with poll-related violations in J&K.
“We have registered 11 FIRs after taking cognisance of these complaints. We have also issued notice in 80 complaints and enquiry has been initiated in 29 complaints,” said, J&K CEO P K Pole. The Election officials said that highest MCC violations have been reported in Srinagar district. “In Srinagar district there have been 46 MCC complaints followed by Jammu with 34,” they said.

JAMMU, May 14: A Pakistani intruder was arrested from a village near the Line of Control (LoC) here, officials said on Tuesday. Separately, a massive search operation was launched near the International Border (IB) in Kathua district following suspicious movement of at least five persons, believed to be terrorists, the officials said.

SRINAGAR, May 14: Police attached properties of two terror handlers based in Pakistan in Baramulla district on Tuesday.
Police on Tuesday said after obtaining the attachment order from Sub Judge Uri, it attached properties including 1 Kanal and 11 Marlas worth lakhs belonging to two terror handlers based in Pakistan.
They have been identified as Mohammad Arif Badal, a resident of Nawarunda, and Mohammad Bashir, of Gowhallan Uri.
