Kishtwar Police search houses of terrorists operating from Pak, initiates property seizure | | |

Kishtwar, May 17: In a major crackdown against local terrorists operating from Pakistan, Kishtwar police conducted searches today in the houses of five terrorists in Kishtwar town and its surrounding areas.
The searches, carried out with warrants obtained from the NIA court, are aimed at collaborating property shares of terrorists with revenue records collected by the police.
During the several-hour-long searches, officials examined various documents, including land records, and inquired about the source of funds used to construct and accumulate movable and immovable properties. The investigation is part of a terror-related case, and the accused militants are charged under relevant sections of the IPC and UAPA.

School having 200 students operates from 2 rooms | | |

Rajouri, May 17: A Government Middle School at Kotranaka, Budhal in Rajouri district having 200 students on rolls is operating from two rooms.
This school was established in 1970 as a primary school. It was upgraded as a middle school in 2010. “The up gradation took place only on papers. No new infrastructure was added. The students for the past so many years have been studying under an open sky,” local residents said.

Anantnag, May 17: ACD Anantnag has issued an order to withhold the salary of three employees of Rural Development Department in Larnoo block for their alleged involvement in the corruption.
The three employees whose salary has been withheld are: Ghulam Rasool Rather, Panchayat inspector , Abdul Majeed Ganie, Panchayat secretary and Mohammad Tasaduq.
Sources told Early Times that around Rs 10 lakh were withdrawn for development works in the Larnoo block but not a single penny was spent on the ground. “At least 10 employees were involved in the scam,” sources added.
