As Kashmir netas owe crores to Govt, admin wants matryr’s widow to clear Rs 7 lakh | | |

Srinagar, May 20: Even as netas in Kashmir owe millions to the government in the form of rentals of the government accommodation, the administration has asked the widow of a martyr, who was killed by terrorists to clear the dues henceforth.
Ghulam Nabi Mir (Patel), who as per observers, believed in the idea of India and was its foot soldier in Kashmir was killed by terrorists in 2018. Now the administration wants his poor widow to clear Rs 7,42,080 rupees as rentals for the accommodation in Pulwama district. The helpless widow has been served a formal notice.
The decision of the concerned authorities has drawn severe criticism from various quarters who find it injustice with the widow whose husband stood for nationalist sentiment in restive Kashmir and died for the cause of the mainstream.
The government decision is in contradiction to the stand of the authorities who have been seemingly silent over fortunes grabbed by the netas and other influential in Kashmir.

Jammu, May 20: The recent government nod to private schools to seek tuition fee from the students has empowered these institutions to dictate terms to the parents.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “The School Education department has apparently forgotten the parents, who are working in private sector, including organized and unorganized. They are struggling to make their ends meet due to the lockdown.”

SRINAGAR, May 20: The death toll due to the Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 18 today as a young lady of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district passed away at the Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura.
At the same time 73 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from both the Kashmir and Jammu divisions of the union territory. JAMMU, May 20: The inmates who have been lodged under private quarantine centre facilities in Jammu have expressed their resentment against the undue delay in COVID-19 test reports as the hotels they are undergoing isolation is charging them heavily for each passing day.
“We are paying Rs 1500 per day for our stay at the hotel which is excluding facility for food,” said an inmate, while speaking to Early Times.
The inmate said that he has been kept at a hotel near Gummat area of Jammu city for quarantine adding that the COVID-19 samples of him and his family members were collected and sent for test for which the report has still been awaited.
