Jammu, May 20: Exactly a month after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at his residence at Gandhi Nagar, senior IAS officer Naveen Choudhary has been transferred to Mizoram.
Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India on Friday ordered the transfer of five IAS and one IPS officer including Navin Kumar Choudhary and M Raju with immediate effect.
Belonging to the joint AGMUT cadre, Choudhary has been transferred to Mizoram while M Raju to Arunachal Pradesh, according to an order by MHA.

Srinagar, May 20: Kothibagh Police station on Srinagar’s Residency road was gutted in a fire incident in which Fire and Emergency personnel also sustained injuries during the operation, officials said.
Traffic Police headquarters in Srinagar was also gutted in a blaze in the vicinity on May 18 causing damage to the building and records.
Fire and Emergency officials said fire broke out at 0157 hours in Police Station Kothibagh at Residency road and engulfed the building within no time.

Srinagar, May 20: A Rural Development Department (RDD) employee was arrested with heroin worth crores of rupees in the border district of Uri on Friday.
Police said during a routine checking by the joint team of Police and Army on Uri Highway in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, 10 packets of narcotics weighing 10 kg were recovered from a vehicle.
The vehicle was being driven by one Mohammad Zahid Shah Geelani of Basgran Uri, an RDD employee, who has been arrested, they added.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the recovered narcotics were heroin, which were worth around Rs 20 crore in the international market.

Srinagar, May 20: The Indian Army on Friday foiled an infiltration bid by killing a militant in Jammu and Kashmir's frontier district of Kupwara, police said.
The bid was foiled this morning in the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara, by Army's 3/9 GR unit.
“At about 9 am, a group of heavily armed terrorists attempted to infiltrate in Tangdhar sector and subsequently were challenged by the alert troops deployed on LoC.
