Influential in Kashmir given anti-Covid jabs at home | Violation of norms | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 21: In violation of the norms, some of the influential people have been administered Covid vaccines allegedly at their homes.
Sources said the allegations came to notice of the government after some of the influential including politicians got vaccines allegedly at their homes.
A senior doctor in the government told Early Times that under no circumstances can a Covid injection be given at home.
He said there were central government guidelines which make it mandatory for the concerned to hold the immunization drive only at the prescribed clinics.
“There are issues linked to the injection due to which the injection cannot be administered at home. There is a need of anti allergic kit, para medics, an ambulance and a doctor at call and thus given the sensitivity the injection has to be given at prescribed healthcare center only,” the doctor said on the condition of anonymity.
He said violation of the norms amounts to criminal act and police can file FIR in such cases.

Jammu, May 21: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported its first death due to black fungus after a 40-year-old COVID-19 recovered patient died of mucormycosis at Government Medical College (GMC) hospital here, an official said.
The patient who was admitted to GMC hospital has succumbed to the infection, Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, said.
Giving details, Principal of GMC hospital Dr Shashi Sudan Sharma said the man suffered from a high degree of diabetes of 900 level and was immunocompromised. Jammu, May 21: While as higher-ups in the Union Territory of J&K have been repeatedly claiming that upcoming 500-bedded temporary COVID hospital in the collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is going to start functioning on May 25, recruitment of staff for this institute is yet to be made.
Authorities of Government Medical College Jammu issued recruitment notice on May 20 and process is likely to take some time.
Ironically DRDO has started construction of the hospital at Bhagwati Nagar in the first week of May but authorities of GMC Jammu have against adopted casual approach in recruiting staff for the same.
