Jammu, May 22: Taking serious note of the incident of the ‘collapse’ of a portion of an under-construction tunnel, the central government has set up a three-member panel to investigate whether it was a manmade disaster or due to natural reasons.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has decided to thoroughly probe the incident, without any lacuna, because the widening of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway is a presitious project for the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.

New Delhi, May 22: The Union Home Ministry has warned of disciplinary action “without any further reference” against six DANICS officers, working with the Delhi Government, if they fail to join the Lakshadweep Administration “immediately”.
The fresh order came on May 20, immediately after the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) bench headed by chairperson Manjula Das ruled that there was “no merit” in the applications of the six DANICS officers challenging the decision of the ministry to transfer them to Lakshadweep.

Srinagar, May 22: A web-based application has been developed in Jammu and Kashmir to allow candidates freshly selected for various positions in government departments to submit their Personnel Verification Rolls (PVRs) online.

Jammu, May 22: Army troops detained one Pakistani youth from near the Line of Control and handed him over to the police in Khour area here on the city outskirts.
