New Delhi, May 24:
Over 11 crore voters will decide the fate of 889 candidates contesting in the penultimate phase of the Lok Sabha elections across 58 seats.
Polling for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat in Jammu and Kashmir will also be held on Saturday. The election there was postponed from phase three to six due to logistical issues owing to adverse weather conditions.
In a statement issued on Friday, the poll panel said the India Meteorological Department has predicted "no adverse impact" of cyclone in poll-going constituencies. But it gave no details.

The Supreme Court on Friday refused an NGO’s plea to issue the Election Commission directions to upload polling station-wise voter turnout data on its website during the Lok Sabha polls, saying it would be difficult for the poll panel to to mobilise manpower. SRINAGAR, May 24: Authorities in Kashmir issued an advisory on Friday amid soaring temperatures in the Valley, with Srinagar recording its hottest May day in 13 years.
The maximum temperature in Srinagar on Thursday was recorded at 32.2 degrees Celsius — the same as on May 25, 2013. On May 20, 2011, Srinagar had recorded a maximum temperature of 32.3 degrees Celsius.
Thursday’s maximum temperature was 7.4 notches above normal for this time of the season.

Jammu, May 24: Registrar General J and K High Court Shahzad Azeem issued a notification regarding change of timing in High Court Jammu and Kashmir and Subordinate Courts of Jammu Division during the Summer Session. According to the notification, the timing of High Court and Subordinate Courts from 27th May, 2024 to August 3, 2024 will be 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM for High Court Wing Jammu.

Srinagar, May 24: Jammu and Kashmir’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered two FIRs against a Revenue Officer on Friday, one about the alleged amassing of disproportionate assets and another related to an “illegal and fraudulent” mutation.
The FIRs were registered after ACB conducted verification into the allegations of accumulation of disproportionate assets (DA) through corrupt practices by Patwari Halqa Matipora Pattan Abdul Majid Sheikh alias Malla of Wahigund Kunzer, Baramulla.
