JAMMU, May 26: Minister for Public Works, Naeem Akter has come under scanner for mishandling execution of the Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh flyover, something that has led to suspension of the work.
The work on the prestigious flyover, to be longest in Kashmir, stopped three days after Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti inaugurated its first phase between Amar Singh College and Barzulla crossing on May 10.
Official sources said that there are some payment issues between the workers and the contractor.
The company is understood to have asked its workers and engineers to halt the work until the government doesn't settle "pending issues."

JAMMU, May 26: The J&K State Power Development Corporation's (JKSPDC) failure to submit details of income tax paid to State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) has caused a loss of Rs 96 crore to the corporation and as a result Commission fixed the tariff on lower side.
JKSPDC is required to file an application for approval of Generation Tariff for each year with the SERC. The Commission accepts the application and issues an order for generation tariffs for the year after considering all suggestions and objections from all stakeholders.

Srinagar, May 26: While two months have passed of the current fiscal, there has been no utilization of funds sanctioned under panchayat budget in Jammu and Kashmir.
Due to non-holding of panchayat elections, Jammu and Ladakh also suffer because of uncertainty in Kashmir region.
On January 11, the Mehbooba Mufti-led government had presented first ever separate panchayat budget in the state. Government had made a provision to spend Rs 1000 crore on panchayats and urban civic bodies during 2018-2019 in the state.
