Srinagar, May 27: Even as every half-an-hour someone is testing positive for Covid19 in Kashmir, people are more concerned about celebrating marriages only to get “humiliated” on the social media for their allegedly “misplaced priorities.”
The wedding season has picked up in Kashmir with people opting for wazwan, the traditional feast served on trami, shared by four guests. While the medical health experts have raised concerns over the such celebrations in the middle of the second wave of the pandemic, those celebrating marriages seem to be careless. But the social media is fuming with slogans like “Jaan Jaye Par Wazwan Na Jaaye” being posted by doctors themselves.
Even though the government has fixed the number of guests at 25, the celebrations, it’s feared can further the deadly infection in Kashmir. “When four people sit on Trami to eat Wazwan and no one knows with surety if the Waza is infected, such a gathering is bound to create havoc,” said a medical health expert.

Srinagar, May 27: The officers working as Executive Officers at several Municipalities across Kashmir have refused to implement the very first order of Director Urban Local Bodies in which she had asked them not to undertake undue transfers without seeking permission from competent authority and rescind all such previous orders.

Jammu, May 27: The annual Amarnath pilgrimage is just a month away and there is no final word about whether the Yatra will be allowed at full scale or curtailed due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir. The registration facility for pilgrims continues to remain suspended.
As per the reports coming to fore, the government has not taken any decision to whether to allow Yatra at the full scale this year or not. The 56-day pilgrimage was scheduled to commence from June 28 this year.

Jammu, May 27: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kathua has been headless for the last over five weeks since the transfer of the former officer, causing pendency of cases as well as hurdles in the routine functioning of the institution. A few days back the charge of the office was given to Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) but the pendency created due to the RTO post remaining vacant for over one month has piled up the cases.

New Delhi, May 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the impact of Cyclone Yaas in the affected areas of West Bengal and Odisha.
PM Modi will visit West Bengal and Odisha on Friday and will also chair review meetings in the two states to assess the impact of the storm, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement. He will also undertake an aerial survey of the affected areas in the two states, it said.
