Rebellion in Apni Party: Aides confront Altaf Bukhari in public | | |

Jammu, May 29: The Apni Party is facing “tough time as its President and former Minister, Altaf Bukhari is being “openly confronted” by his aides including a senior youth politician of the party.
While one such youth politician had resigned from a prime chair in the party some weeks ago, he now openly contradicts the party chief on “policy matters.” A close aide of the said politician, on the other hand, has been openly questioning Altaf Bukhari through press notes and on social media hinting that the party is running into “rough weather.” “Kehwa Ji who is close to the Apni Party leader has been openly challenging Bukhari Ji which means that actually the party leaders are behind this drama to create a scene in the party,” said a political observer on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said ideally the party should have sought explanation from its senior cadre, who also enjoys a key position at a civic body in Srinagar over the “scene being create against the party president.”

Jammu, May 29: Amid brewing anger among the helpless widows and old-age pensioners due to the cumbersome process set up by the Social Welfare Department to release their pensions BJP on Monday admitted that these marginalized sections of the society are facing harassment.
Former Minister Priya Sethi after attending the grievance meeting at party headquarters emphasized simplifying the old-age and widow pension verification process.
She asked the authorities of the Social Welfare Department to streamline and simplify the verification procedure for pension cases of old age, widows, and other categories of people.

New Delhi, May 29: The Delhi High Court on Monday issued a notice to separatist leader Yasin Malik, who is presently serving a life term, on a plea by the National Investigation Agency seeking death penalty for him in a terror funding case.
A bench of Justices Siddharth Mridul and Talwant Singh also issued warrants for production of Malik before it on August 9.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who appeared on behalf of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), argued that the accused indulged in terrorist and secessionist activities and should be awarded death penalty by treating the matter as a “rarest of rare” case.

Currently, the weather is partly to generally cloudy at most places with the possibility of intermittent light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur towards late afternoon or evening at many places of J&K on Monday.

Srinagar, May 29: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday sealed 20 shops belonging to banned Jamaat-e-Islami in Kupwara district.
Acting on the order of District Magistrates in exercise of the powers the SIA sealed the property which is a shopping complex comprising 20 shops along with appurtenant land in Kupwara district today.
"The land under survey number 2990/2666/270 and survey number 3551/2979/263 has been sealed and entry and usage barred has been prohibited, reads the notification", a SIA statement said.

Jammu, May 29: Expecting a huge rush of pilgrims in view of summer holidays across the country, the Northern Railways will be running three special trains from New Delhi to Katra from June 2 to July 30.
"Three summer special trains from New Delhi to Jammu to Katra will start operating from June 2 to cater to the rush of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims," official sources said.
They said that the special train from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will start on June 2 and it will leave New Delhi Station every Friday at 11:15 PM and reach Katra next day at 11:25 am.
From Katra, they said that the train will leave every Saturday at 6:30 pm.
