BJP leaders skip last rites of slain party leader | | | Early Times Report
Anantnag, May 5: As expected, no one from Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) attended the last rites of slain leader in South Kashmir's Nowgam Verinag village on Sunday.
Slain BJP Leader, Gul Mohd Mir who was also district vice-President of Anantnag was laid to rest in Nowgam village on Sunday morning.
Relatives, friends and neighbors participated the funeral prayers of the slain leader, however no one from BJP turned up to participate in his last rites.
BJP state unit even didn't cancel its door to door election campaign in South Kashmir's Pulwama and Shopain district and most all his colleagues gave preference to election campaign. State Vice President who is also contesting Lok Shaba Eelections from Anantnag, Sofi Yousuf also continued with his schedule and didn't visit the bereaved family, informed sources told Early Times.
Hours after his burial, BJP General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, District President Anantnag Rafiq Ahmad Wani, Veer Saraf and few others visited the residence of slain leader to express sympathies with the bereaved family.... | |

Anantnag, May 5: A day after BJP leader was shot dead, security forces on Sunday recovered his personal car from Dooru area in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
A police officer said that soon after militants murdered the BJP leader Gul Mohammad Mir (60), a joint team of security forces, including SOG, Police, Army and CRPF launched searches in several parts of Nowgam, Verinag, Dooru and adjoining areas.
"The personal car of the slain BJP leader (Wagon R No. JK03D-0748) was taken away by the militants and the vehicle was left at Gujerbasti area of Watnad in Dooru," the officer said.
The vehicle was recovered on Sunday morning, he said.

anantnag, May 5: Hundreds of people on Sunday attended the funeral of slain Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Gul Mohd Mir who was killed by suspected militants on Saturday late evening at his home in Nowgam-Verinag village of South Kashmir's Anantnag district.
Family members, relatives and neighbors of the family participated in funeral prayers of slain BJP Leader who was also the district vice-president of BJP in Anantnag district and had unsuccessfully contested 2014 assembly election from Dooru assembly segment of Anantnag.
