South Kashmir : Cong workers reluctant to support NC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 7: Even as the Congress leadership has declared support to the National Conference candidate Mian Altaf on the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, many hard-core party workers in some parts of south Kashmir are not ready to support the NC candidate.
Highly placed sources said many hard-core Congress, associated with the grand old party for generations, are reluctant to support the National Conference due to political rivalries.
“In some parts of south Kashmir dedicated Congress workers and voters have decided to support Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Anantnag-Rajouri seat”, sources said and added that it was all due to the association of these workers with the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that their first priority is PDP instead of NC.
Important to mention here that PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti is repeatedly reiterating her resolve to remain part and parcel of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc headed by the Congress.

Jammu, May 7: Three Special Police Officers (SPOs) were on Tuesday dismissed from service for dereliction of duty and involvement in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, officials said.
The SPOs -- Daljeet Singh, Bali Ram and Deepak Singh -- have been disengaged from service while disposing off two separate
departmental enquiries initiated against them among and other officials in 2023, they said.

SRINAGAR, May 7: Police on Tuesday attached the properties of seven alleged terror handlers based in Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said on Tuesday that after obtaining an attachment order passed by Additional Sessions Court, Baramulla attached properties (13 Kanals) land worth lakhs belonging to terror handlers based in Pakistan. “The action was taken under sections of 88 CRPC and are linked with case FIR No.04/2008 u/s 2/3 EIMCO Act, 121 RPC,7/25 IA Act, 13 UA (P) Act of PS Kreeri,” police said.
The property was identified as belonging to terror handlers during the course of the investigation and inquiry conducted by the police.

JAMMU, May 7: The Jammu and Kashmir police has stepped up their efforts in the ongoing investigation into the murder of a person over a land dispute here and have conducted multiple raids at the residences of suspects, officials said on Wednesday.
