Year after Bhim Singh’s death Panthers Party faces extinction threat | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 31: Recent statements given by Panthers Party leaders, especially Ankit Love have raised a big question over the ideology of the party which is already on the verge of extinction within one year after the demise of its founder Prof. Bhim Singh.
Once a firebrand leader of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Prof Bhim Singh breathed his last on May 31, 2022, after a prolonged illness.
Not only the Panthers’ Party is on the verge of extinction but the party is also facing identity and ideological crises as its leaders are giving statements that are against the core of the party’s nationalist ideology.
Most of the Panthers Party leaders, except Harsh Dev Singh, have quit the party. While two-time MLA from Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia has joined the BJP, another party leader and former minister Yashpal Kundal appears to be comfortable in the Aam Aadmi Party.
Faqir Nath, another ex-MLA of the party has already quit the Panthers Party before the demise of Prof. Bhim Singh.

Jammu, May 31: Infighting within the Congress Party is getting murkier in Jammu and Kashmir with each passing day as the leaders are trying to establish their supremacy over each other.
Political analysts are of the opinion that if the “Congress leaders don’t give up their rigidity and keep on pulling each other down, the party may lose a little ground which it has been left within the Union Territory.

Poonch, May 31: The Army on Wednesday foiled an infiltration attempt with the arrest of three terrorists along with a huge consignment of arms and narcotics along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A defence spokesman said the terrorists, who were also in possession of a 10 kg powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED), were arrested after an exchange of fire near the border fence when they were attempting to sneak into this side.

Jammu, May 31: The 2nd Additional Sessions Judge of Srinagar, Renu Dogra, delivered a verdict today, sentencing Irshad Ahmad Malik, son of Habib-ullah Malik from Ahlan Gadwak Kokernag, Anantnag (currently residing in Anchar Soura), to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposing a fine of 25,000 rupees for the rape of a minor.
The prosecution's case, as presented in the charge-sheet, states that on May 18, 2012, the complainant filed a written report with the Soura Police Station, stating that he worked as a laborer and would leave his home early in the morning for work, returning in the evening.

New Delhi, May 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed grief over the loss of lives in the road accident in Jammu and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand for people who sustained injuries.
At least 10 people were killed and around 55 injured when a bus fell into a deep gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Tuesday morning.
