True or false: 100% Jammu population above 45-years vaccinated? | People still throng health centers in search of jabs, rue slow pace of inoculation | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 9: The claim of the Jammu administration about having provided COVID-19 jabs to 100% populace above 45-years in the division seem to be a hoax as people of this age group are still thronging vaccination centers to get a shot.
As per the official figures, so far 2837295 people in the age group above 45 years have been given the vaccine in J&K. Similarly, 160279 health care workers and 487167 front line workers have been immunized against the deadly virus.
Even though government data circulated by the Health Department claims that 100 percent of the population in the age group above 45 years has been given COVID-19 jabs, but still a large number of people are getting the second dose of the vaccine at the centers. In many of these centers, people are ruing the non-availability of vaccines. The figures currently cover only 73.31 per cent of the population above 45 years, while the target of 27 per cent is yet to be achieved. Samba, June 9: In view of the second wave of Corona epidemic in Jammu and Kashmir, as per the orders of the Lieutenant Governor, Covid-19 Isolation Center has been set up in a big hall in Vijaypur Panchayat, Swankha Morh.

Poonch, June 9: Underlining the flaws in the Government’s move of setting up of five bedded Covid Care Centers (CCC) at Panchayat levels across the J&K UT, the Sarpanch Tareva in Poonch District has termed the move as a futile exercise.
