Jammu, June 10: After facing defeat on the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat at the hands of independent candidate Abdul Rashid Sheikh alias Engineer Rashid, Vice-President of the National Conference Omar Abdullah today announced that he will not contest the forthcoming Assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir.
“I am not contesting Assembly elections. I will not fight the election in the Union Territory, I am absolutely clear on that. I will help my Party, I will lead the campaign. Jammu, June 10: Authorities on Monday identified the nine victims of the deadly terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.
Among the victims are four natives of Rajasthan, including a two-year-old boy, and three from Uttar Pradesh. Ten people with gunshot wounds are among the 41 pilgrims — mostly from Uttar Pradesh — undergoing treatment in three hospitals of Jammu and Reasi districts, officials said.

REASI, June 10: After around nine pilgrims were killed in a terror attack in Reasi district on Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday said that at least two ‘terrorists’ were involved in the attack.

Amarjit Sharma’s murder sparked protests by his grieving relatives and neighbours, who demanded immediate arrest of the unidentified culprits, they said.
