Jammu, June 13: Even as the news has gone viral that union minister, Nitin Gadkari promised to release Rs 1,000 crore for development work for each kilo lost by a Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Madhya Pradesh, former Chief Minister and National Conference President, Omar Abdullah has joined the chorus on weight loss, hinting at improvement of ties with the BJP.
The former Chief Minister, who was also a BJP ally in the past, said: “If only I was a MP, I’d have met Gadkari ji for the same offer before I set about losing the 13-14 kilos that I’ve lost.”
Recently in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP was on a mission to shed weight after Gadkari promised to release Rs 1,000 crore for development work for each kilo lost for fitness.
"He(Gadkari) had told me on stage that for each kilo I lose, I will earn ₹1000 crore for development works in Ujjain," Anil Firojiya told reporters adding he was still working on the challenge.

Jammu, June 14: Nearly 90,000 candidates are hoping a justice for a three-member panel constituted under the direction of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to probe alleged bungling in the written test of Police Sub Inspectors.
97, 793 candidates have appeared in the written test conducted by the JKSSB in a single sitting on March 27 across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per data, 1,13,861 candidates had applied for the post of which 97,793 candidates appeared in the examination, which was over 85 percent.

Srinagar, June 13: Security forces have shot dead 100 militants in Kashmir this year and Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba has suffered the maximum causalities, officials informed on Monday.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Vijay Kumar said 71 local and 29 foreigner militants have been killed during the gun battles this year. The IGP said 50 militants were killed during the same period last year.

Bijbehara, June 13: Tourist Reception Centre at Padshahi Bagh Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district has been awaiting inauguration for the past two years.
According to the locals the foundation stone of this TRC was laid in 2015 and the work was completed in 2020.
“Once this TRC is thrown open it will create employment avenues for the locals and will help in promoting tourism in the area,” said a resident.

Jammu, June 13: Following improvement in the law and order situation, authorities on Monday lifted curfew from Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district except Bhaderwah town.
“Restrictions which were imposed on Thursday last week under Section 144 have been lifted today from whole of the district except Bhaderwah town,” an official said.

Jammu, June 13: Alert BSF troops successfully foiled an infiltration bid along international border in Arnia sector here, officials said on Monday.
BSF spokesman DIG SPS Sandhu on Monday said that alert BSF troops observed suspicious movement close to the IB in Arnia Sector last night at about 9:30 pm.
"The BSF troops challenged the people, after which miscreants fired at them, but it was effectively retaliated upon by the BSF troops forcing them to return back," he said.
