Jammu, June 14: So much deeper has nepotism, partiality and corruption seeped into our system that even the sacred religious pilgrimages do not remain unscathed.
Scores of pilgrims have accused the Hajj Committee of employing ill- experienced, blue-eyed and those with political affluences as 'Khudam-ul-Hujjaj'- the guides who assist the pilgrimage in Holy Muslim cities of Mecca and Madina.
Khudam as per the aggrieved pilgrims should be well educated, experienced and well versed with the sacred journey. However, the pilgrims say, those selected for the job don't even remember the names of the areas in the holy cities where pilgrims have to perform certain rites.
They accuse high end corruption in the entire process by the State Hajj Committee and even demanded probe into the process behind the recruitment of these blue eyed people.
A local news gathering agency in Srinagar also reported the news. The agency claimed that the authorities are deputing non-local Hajj trainers (Khudam-ul- Hujaj) for Kashmiri pilgrims.

Jammu, June 14: More than 300 Inspectors in J&K Police promoted as DySPs against available vacancies are on own pay and grade (OPG) for more than a decade, even as several officers have retired or died without being confirmed as DySPs.
After Thursday's promotions of 19 Inspectors as DySPs the number of officers promoted on OPG bases has crossed 300, as the discriminatory attitude of government is depriving these officers of their genuine right since 2003.
According to a senior police officer, those who were directly recruited as Dy.SPs (JKPS 2004) batch have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police.

ACD Poonch Abdul Qayoom Mir while confirming it said that the salaries of the three officers were put on hold on the directions of Director RDD Jammu. The officers include Block Medical Officers (BDOs) of Balakote, Mankote and Lassana. The actions to withhold the salaries of the three BDOs were taken over their poor performance in their respective blocks, he said.
