Missing revenue maps: After CS’s directions erring officers likely to face strict action

Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: A day after directions of Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta to single out officers responsible for missing important revenue maps, higher-ups have initiated the exercise to fix responsibilities. Highly placed sources said that Chief Secretary has taken very serious note of this scandal and directed the authorities concerned to complete the probe as early as possible to take action against erring officers/officials. On Wednesday Chief Secretary took serious note of the missing 392 revenue maps across the Union Territory and directed the authorities to fix responsibility on those who were responsible for this misdeed. While reviewing the overall implementation of various schemes for the development of Agriculture in J&K, the Chief Secretary exhorted the officers to fix the responsibility for misplacing 392 revenue maps (Mussavis) and initiate the process of recreating the same at the earliest. Early Times Report JAMMU, June 15: More than 40 food items have been banned at the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and the pilgrims have been advised to achieve physical fitness by walking at least 5 kilometres a day, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board said in its health advisory issued on Thursday. The banned food items include drinks, fried and fast food items. The health advisory also called upon devotees undertaking the pilgrimage to the Himalayan shrine located in south Kashmir for achieving physical fitness and asked them to start a preparatory morning and evening walk, about 4 to 5 km per day. Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: Two persons were killed and three injured when a car they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in Budhal area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that a car plying towards Samote from Targain on Thursday morning at around 7:30 AM fell into a deep gorge. Police said that two people died on the spot and three suffered injuries. The deceased were identified as Shah Jahan and Shenaz Akhter.
