Target killings of cops: J&K Police to reframe strategy for foiling designs of terrorists | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 18: On May 24 when terrorists killed police constable Saifullah Qadri in the heart of Srinagar city, top brass in the J&K Police had assured revenge for the gruesome killing.
After identifying the terrorist involved in the incident, forces were tracking him.
Ultimately, on June 13, a self-styled commander of the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit Adil Parray was killed in a brief encounter in the Kreesbal Palpora area in the Srinagar district.
Adil Parray was involved in the gruesome killing of two unarmed cops namely Ghulam Hassan Dar in Sangam and Saifullah Qadri in Soura.
Three weeks after killing Saifullah Qadri, terrorists on Saturday killed another police constable Farooq Ahmad Mir in Awantipora.
Continuing killings of unarmed cops in Kashmir Valley after repeated intervals killed the constable who had gone in his fields.

Srinagar, June 18: An off duty police sub inspector was shot dead in Awantipora sub district of Jammu and Kashmir in yet another "targeted" attack , officials said on Saturday. The body of sub-inspector Farooq Ahmad Mir, a resident of Samboora who was posted with IRP was recovered in a paddy field in his village, police said. Srinagar, June 18: Security forces detected and defused a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district this morning, officials said on Saturday.
They said a suspicious object was detected near Ganapora on Baramulla Handwara highway by the road opening party of the Army. A bomb disposal squad was called in and traffic was halted. JAMMU, June 18: A fresh landslide, triggered by rains, Saturday blocked Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded, officials said. The landslide struck the 270-km highway, the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country, around 1.30 pm at Samroli, forcing the suspension of the traffic from both sides, the officials said.
They said the concerned road clearance agencies have pressed its men and machines and efforts are on to restore the traffic at the earliest despite continuous rains.
