GMC Jammu Principal ‘violates’ Govt order designates faculty member as Academic Registrar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 19: Principal Government Medical College Jammu, Dr Nasib Chand Digra, has allegedly violated a government order by designating Dr Dinesh Kumar, Professor, and Head as Academic Registrar in addition to his own work and duties vide order no. GMC/20/Order/379 dated 18.6.2020.
Sources claimed: “The order issued by the GMC principal is violation of the various government, cabinet orders issued from time to time. The Academic Registrar post is primarily classified as a promotional post. It is beyond the competence and official capacity of incumbent Principal GMC Jammu, as this is post meant to be filled by the Recommendation of Establishment Cum Selection Committee, constituted by the J&K administration for the said placement of the eligible officials.”

SRINAGAR, June 19: The death toll due to Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 75 as four more persons including a 15 days old child died due to the virus. At the same time 125 new positive cases were reported today.
Reports said that fresh COVID-19 deaths were reported from Nowshera-Srinagar, Bemina-Srinagar, Shopian and Sopore-Baramulla. So far 75 COVID-19 patients have died in Jammu & Kashmir. While 66 Corona Virus patients have died in Kashmir, nine such persons have died in the Jammu division. Srinagar tops the list with 18 deaths so far.

Jammu, June 19: Even as authorities ordered a probe into the death of two persons while cremating their relative who died of coronavirus, the father of one of the deceased on Friday alleged his son was "murdered by the authorities by their negligence".
Two cousins -- Vipin Zadoo, 30 and Vimal Zadoo, 43 -- had collapsed while cremating their uncle on Thursday and died at the cremation ground. Their uncle had died at the Jammu Government Medical College Hospital.

Srinagar, June 19: Eight militants were killed by security forces in two different encounters in the south Kashmir districts of Shopian and Pulwama during encounters which ensued during Cordon and Search Operations (CASO), officials said on Friday.
