NC wants Assembly elections, with or without statehood ! | Kissa Kursi Ka! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 19: Even as the National Conference, President and Member Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah heads the so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration which seeks the “restoration of the special status” of Jammu and Kashmir, the NC is willing contest Assembly elections even without the restoration of the statehood. A senior NC leader while speaking at a civil society meeting in Delhi said his party was ready for Assembly elections even if statehood is not restored before that.
“Elections need to be held in (Jammu and Kashmir) whether the statehood is restored after the elections of before that,” the NC leader said.
Some other politicians from Jammu and Kashmir and members of the civil society were also present at the event held in the national capital.
Interestingly the NC leader did speak about the demand for the restoration of the so called special status but didn’t link with the Assembly elections. Jammu, June 19: For the first time, the helicopters of Indian Air Force (IAF) will be seen hovering at the cave shrine of Shri Amarnath during the annual 62-day long pilgrimage starting from July 1 and concluding on August 30 on Raksha Bandhan festival.

The meteorological department predicts hot and humid weather to continue for the next six days in Jammu and Kashmir with 60 per cent chances of light to moderate rain coupled with thunder and lightning likely at scattered to fairly widespread places.
It said the weather mainly remains dry, but a brief spell of Shower or thunderstorm mainly towards late
afternoon or evening can’t be ruled out till June 23.

Instead of addressing brewing discontentment among students, the JK BOSE authorities on Monday removed two notifications that were issued on June 12 to rectify mistakes in the class 12th results.
The notifications issued on June 12 were available on the official website of J&K BOSE www.jkbose.nic.in till Sunday evening but now these notifications are mysteriously removed from the official website.

New Delhi, June 19: Senior IPS officer Ravi Sinha was on Monday appointed as the chief of the country’s external spy agency RAW, succeeding Samant Kumar Goel who will complete his four-year tenure on June 30, an official order said.
Sinha, a 1988 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, is currently Special Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Sinha’s appointment as Secretary, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for a tenure of two years, the order issued by the Ministry of Personnel said.
