Jammu, June 21: Even as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the International Yoga Day highlighting the importance of the healthy event, thousands of schoolchildren of Kashmir surprised the world by holding numerous such events at places including temples and gardens on June 21.
In Kashmir, where till a few years ago, the separatist forces and the “dynasts” would try to downplay the event of global importance, it was a amazing response to the efforts of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah in particular, who took the bold decision of the abrogation of the so called special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019.
From the revered Shankar Acharya Temple on the hilltop to the Pari Mahal on the heels of Zabarwan Hills, numerous Yoga events were held across Kashmir including government offices.
At the Shankarachayra Temple, the prominent gurus of Yoga enlightened with people with the importance of Yoga and how it should be done. Many of the people were flanked by their kids who looked enthusiastic.

NEW DELHI, June 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed Yoga along with thousands of participants at a mass demonstration in the backdrop of the iconic Mysuru Palace here on Tuesday and said the physical fitness regime was forming a basis for cooperation among countries, and that it can become a problem-solver.
Leading the main event of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) here, Modi said Yoga brings peace to our universe and gave the hope of a healthy life to humanity.

Srinagar, June 21: Security forces gunned down three militants including the alleged killer of Police Sub Inspector in two different encounters in Kashmir valley on Tuesday, officials said.
Two militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) including militant Majid Nazir, a suspect behind the killing of Police Sub Inspector Farooq Mir were killed in Tujjan area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
