After ‘letter bomb’ explosion, Congress high command summons senior J&K leaders | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 23: Taking seriously the growing infighting in the J&K unit of the Congress after the debacle on the two Lok Sabha seats of Jammu province, party high command has summoned senior leaders for an important meeting at Delhi on June 27.
Highly placed sources said that the decision to summon all senior leaders has been taken by a “letter bomb” explosion.
“The party high command is not going to take any chance before the Assembly elections in J&K so party leadership wants to solve the crisis as early as possible”, sources said and added that about two dozen senior leaders have been called for an emergency meeting on June 27.
Important to mention here that some Congress leaders have been demanding removal of the Vikar Rasool Wani from the post of the J&K PCC chief.
As reported earlier by this newspapers, some party leaders have written to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, accusing the local unit president, Vikar Rasool Wani, of “ruining the party” in the Union Territory.

SRINAGAR, June 23: Security forces on Sunday recovered body of a terrorist killed in an anti-infiltration operation along the Line of Control in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
“One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration Operation that was launched on 22 Jun in the Uri Sector; Operations are continuing,” Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said in a post on X.
The security forces had launched an operation in Gohallan area of Uri sector on Saturday after noticing suspicious movement of two men near the LoC.

| | CBI takes over probe, FIR registered | Irregularities in NEET-UG | | NEW DELHI, June 23: The CBI has filed an FIR in connection with alleged irregularities in the conduct of the medical entrance exam NEET-UG held on May 5, officials said on Sunday.
They said the agency is also taking steps to bring under its ambit cases registered in various states by police.
This comes a day after the Centre announced that the probe into the alleged irregularities in the test would be handed over to the CBI.
The officials said the agency registered a fresh case against unidentified persons under IPC sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating) among others on a reference from the Union education ministry.

| | Centre may prepay market loans | | | NEW DELHI, June 23: The Central Government may be able to repay Rs 2.69 lakh crore loans it had taken to compensate states for GST revenue loss in FY21 and FY22 by November 2025, four months ahead of its scheduled repayment, an official has said.
The full repayment of the market borrowings is expected earlier than the previously calculated timeline of March 2026.
The issue is expected to be taken up for discussion in the next meeting of the GST Council in August, the official added.

| | Taxpayers can amend sales return form | | | NEW DELHI, June 23: GST taxpayers will now have the option to amend outward supply or sales return form GSTR-1 before payment of taxes for a month or quarter. The GST Council in its meeting on Saturday had recommended providing a new optional facility by way of Form GSTR-1A to facilitate taxpayers to amend the details in Form GSTR-1 for a tax period and/or to declare additional details.
GSTR-1A will, however, have to be filed before filing of return in GSTR-3B for the said tax period.
