JAMMU, June 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture department has given additional charge of the post of Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO) Jammu to a junior officer in utter disregard to the directions of High Court.
According to sources the Horticulture department has failed to conduct Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) for the last many years, due to which the posts of various cadres have been filled on interim arrangement basis, on pick and choose basis ignoring the seniority list.

Jammu, June 24: The journalists on Monday staged a protest against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) outside the BJP head office at Trikuta Nagar here.
The journalists said that they were asked to leave from party office bearers meeting by party national general secretary (org).

SRINAGAR, June 24: Even as the police claim to have brought situation under control in Kashmir, militant recruitment is “gaining momentum” putting the security forces on tenterhooks.
