Jammu, June 24: Notwithstanding public posturing of Kashmir centric parties, most of the participants on today’s all-party meeting preferred to maintain silence on contentious issues like restoration of Article 370 and 35-A.
Wishing anonymity, one of the participants of today’s meeting, said that after initial speech of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah most of the leaders preferred to maintain silence on controversial issues. They rather echoes government’s view point to strengthen democracy in J&K. The Union Government and mainstream political parties of Jammu and Kashmir are on the same page to strengthen democratic process in the Union Territory (UT).

New Delhi, June 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high level meeting today with leaders of various political parties of Jammu and Kashmir. Detailed discussions were done on strengthening democracy in Jammu & Kashmir. In the backdrop of establishment of three tier Panchayati Raj System with the election and constitution of Block and District Development Councils, there were detailed deliberations on how to give further fillip to the democratic process in Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu, June 24: As a sequel to its ongoing actions against backdoor and illegal appointments in many Municipal Committees (MCs), the government today ordered inquiry into illegal and unauthorised appointments in the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir.
