Is termination sufficient punishment for doctors who orchestrated Shopian unrest ? | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 24: Although the Union Territory administration has terminated two doctors who shamelessly converted two accidental deaths of women into rape and murder cases, a debate has been generated on whether this punishment is sufficient for perpetrators of Shopian conspiracy.
As a result of the conspiracy, Kashmir underwent turmoil, which deprived the valley of peace and growth for months together. As per reports, due to unrest which was the result of the fake postmortem prepared by these doctors, there were over 600 law and order incidents reported from across the Valley, over 250 FIRs for rioting, stone pelting, arson, etc. Many civilians lost their lives and many more were injured during the protests. Hundreds of police and paramilitary personnel were injured and Rs 6,000 crore worth of business was lost in just seven months. These doctors are solely responsible of killing innocent people. Srinagar, June 24: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday laid the foundation stone of a martyr’s memorial here and distributed appointment letters to the next of kin of eight Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel killed in the line of duty, officials said.
The ‘Balidaan Stambh’ memorial, a project under the Srinagar Smart City initiative, is a tribute to martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the nation, they said.

Jammu, June 24: In a strong message to the political parties based in Kashmir, none of their leaders were invited to share dais with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the inauguration of the three day Vitasta Festival in Kashmir on June 23.
Sources said some of the politicians from the parties in Kashmir, which are close to the BJP and even enjoy prominent positions in the local urban bodies, were desirous of sharing the podium with the visiting dignitary.

Jammu, June 24: The arrest of two more women with narcotics from Kashmir Valley has substantiated security agencies’ apprehension that Pakistani has inducted a large number of women for the smooth working of narco-terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.
On Saturday three persons including two women were arrested by the police while busting a narco-terror module in the Sopore area.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Abdul Latief Gojar, Parveen Kaunsar, and Shabnam Begum.
