All set for resumption of Amarnath Yatra after 3-year suspension | | |

Srinagar, June 27: Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) is pulling out all the stops to ensure smooth pilgrimage, scheduled to begin on June 30, to the holy cave shrine housing the naturally formed ice-lingam in south Kashmir Himalayas.
Jammu and Kashmir administration is also augmenting the efforts of the Shrine Board by providing fool proof security cover along both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the holy cave, a senior official said.
While the board is making arrangements for the pilgrims intending to undertake the pilgrimage, it has also made a provision of online darshan for those who cannot physically undertake the yatra.
"For the devotees who can not come for the Yatra, they can avail facility of online darshan, pooja, havan and prasad," an official of the SASB said.
At Baltal base camp, a 70-bed fully-equipped DRDO hospital had been set up for quality healthcare services to the pilgrims.

JAMMU, June 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), visited Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and reviewed arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims.
The Lt Governor directed the concerned officials to ensure health facilities, adequate number of Doctors, nursing staff, sanitation staff, duty officers on the Yatra routes.
Earlier, the Lt Governor was briefed by concerned officers regarding the facilities along the Yatra route, besides the arrangements in regard to water, power supply, sewage disposal, food and RFID counters at the Yatri Niwas.

Srinagar, June 27: Security forces shot dead two terrorists during a gun battle on Monday in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, police said.
They said the battle started at Nowpora-Kherpora, Trubji area of Kulgam during a cordon and a search operation.
“During the cordon and a search operation, as the presence of terrorists got ascertained, they fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party which was retaliated leading to an encounter. In the encounter so far, two terrorists have been killed,” a security official said.

Jammu, June 27: Alert troops of Border Security Force early morning on Monday shot dead one Pakistani intruder along the international border in Ranbir Singh Pura sector of Jammu. "Own troops this morning noticed a suspicious movement across the fence in Baquarpur Border Outpost area," BSF spokesman said.
He said, "Our domination party in night noticed a person coming from Pakistan side aggressively towards the fence with an intention to cross the fence," adding, "our party challenged him to stop but he paid no attention to it and continued his movement towards the fence."
