Srinagar, June 2: A bank manager from Rajasthan was shot dead in a yet another targeted attack in broad daylight in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning, triggering widespread condemnation.
The attack took place two days after a 36-year-old teacher from Samba, Rajni Bala, was killed in the same district.
Police said Vijay Kumar, Manager of Ellaqai Dehati Bank and a resident of Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, was shot by unidentified gunmen at Arreh in Kulgam. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Informed sources said Kumar was posted only one week back in the area.
Since May 12, when a Kashmiri Pandit employee, Rahul Bhat, was shot dead inside his office at Budgam, three employees belonging to the minority community have been killed in Kashmir. Srinagar, June 2: Twenty-six-year-old Vijay Kumar had returned to Kashmir recently along with his wife Manoj Kumari. The newlyweds were happy to start a new life under the foothills of the mighty Himalayas.
Fate, however, had something else in store. Barely three months into the marriage, Manoj was left alone as Vijay was gunned down on Thursday in yet another case of targeted civilian killing in the Valley.
Vijay Kumar, a resident of Bhagavan Hanumangarh Rajasthan and the bank manager at Ellaqai Dehati Bank (EDB) at the Areh Mohanpora Kulgam was critically wounded in a militant attack and shifted to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Srinagar, June 2: The Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad (ATS) team that arrived in Kashmir on May 30 has “widened” the probe into the case linked to Lashkar operatives in the valley.
