Srinagar, June 29: During the past few days councilors and officials have been in the news for the wrong reasons in Kashmir.
Recently councilors at Baramulla Municipal Council allegedly abused the employees and officials, the Assistant Executive Engineer, R&B on Wednesday accused a Sopore councilor of hurling invectives at him.
After the incident the official went on a protest leave and demanded the intervention of the higher-ups. The councilor on the other hand said the official also abused and threatened him and that he too has filed an application in the police station.

Srinagar, June 29: Even as former minister and Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari recently called Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in New Delhi, the development has “brought a sigh of relief for the party leadership boosting morale of Bukhari’s cadres.”
While the party had been apprehending that some of its leaders could part ways in the coming times, sources said, “such apprehensions have changed after the meeting”.
Sources said there were apprehensions that the party had been “weak for the last many months” as some of its leaders were resorting to “indiscipline and could leave for greener pastures.”

| | Amarnath Yatra: First batch of pilgrims to leave Jammu today | | |

JAMMU, June 29: The ‘City of Temples’ is witnessing hustle-bustle as the first batch of pilgrims will leave for Shri Amarnath Yatra from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here on Friday amidst tight security arrangements.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is likely to flag-off the first batch from here tomorrow.
The 62-day long pilgrimage is starting from July 1 and ending on August 30.
The pilgrims have started to reach the base camp for the journey tomorrow.
Meanwhile on the spot (Tatkal) registration has also started for the pilgrims at different centres established in parts of the district.

| | Indian Railways to run two special trains for pilgrims | | |

Jammu, June 29: To facilitate hassle free travel to the Amarnath Pilgrims, the Indian Railways has announced to run two more special trains, a railway official said here on Thursday.
Earlier, the Railways had started five additional special trains.
He said that in view of the extra rush of passengers in Jammu and Kashmir during the Amarnath Yatra starting from July 1, it has been decided to run two summer special trains between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
The trains, he said, will operate from New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and New Delhi Gati Shakti Summer Special Express.
