New Delhi, June 3: Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday held a meeting with Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha, NSA Ajit Doval, and other senior officials to review security in the Valley.
The meeting comes in wake of a series of targeted killings of civilians. Security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra were also discussed in the meetings, a source said.
Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Director of Intelligence Bureau Arvind Kumar, Director General of Central Reserve Police Force Kuldiep Singh, Border Security Force chief Pankaj Singh, and Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh among other key officials were present in the meeting.
A bank manager from Rajasthan was shot dead in a yet another targeted attack in broad daylight in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning, triggering widespread condemnation.
The attack took place two days after a 36-year-old teacher from Samba, Rajni Bala, was killed in the same district.

NEW DELHI, June 3: Amid a growing demand for shifting Kashmiri Pandit employees to safer places after a series of targeted killings, the Jammu and Kashmir administration Friday made it clear the employees would not be moved out of the Valley but transferred to safer locations.
Official also said the recent escalation in targeted terrorist violence would not lead to any change in plans for holding the annual Amarnath Yatra which is scheduled from June 30-August 11.
The assertion comes in the wake of a spate of terror incidents which included targeted killings of civilians.

Srinagar, June 3: An apex body of non-migrant Pandits has urged the Jammu and Kashmir High Court to direct the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir authorities to relocate minorities from the Kashmir Valley in view of the growing threats from militants.
The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti (KPSS) has also sought a High Court monitored Special Investigation Team to probe the targeted killings and submit a report within a stipulated time.

Srinagar, June 3: A gun battle erupted between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Friday evening, officials said.
They said the gun battle erupted at Rishipora during a cordon and a search operation in the area following an input about the presence of militants in the area.
"As the joint team of security forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire upon them, triggering a gunfight," a security official said.
