Kashmir netas get active as assembly election rumours fly thick and fast | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 30: Even as the Election Commission of India is yet to announce date for the much-awaited Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the rumor mills are rife that polls will be held in the coming months with Kashmiri netas getting active in the field.
In the last few days, the National Conference, the Peoples Democratic Party, the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference have been “holding back to back events to show their influence in the field.”
For the National Conference apart from the main party, even the women’s wings of the party in both the provinces have gone active.
On June 27, the women’s wings of both Jammu and Kashmir held daylong conventions in both the capitals to show the new cadres joining the party folds.

Jammu, June 30: Amid reports that the BJP-led government is going to conduct the maiden assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has written a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of J&K to conduct a special summary revision of electoral rolls. The ECI has asked the J&K government to complete the process by October 31, 2022, with the final publication of electoral rolls. Srinagar, June 30: At least 10,000 pilgrims left from base camps of Nunwan and Baltal towards the cave shrine of Amarnath in the Kashmir Himalayas for the darshan amid unprecedented security arrangements.
The annual 43 day long Amarnath yatra began this morning from Nunwan and Baltal after being suspended for two years due to the Covid pandemic. In 2019, the Yatra was cancelled midway ahead of the abrogating of Article 370 provisions of the Constitution.
As many as 6,823 pilgrims including 12,93 women, 48 children and 98 Sadhus left from the shortest Baltal route onwards to the shrine till 11 A.M for darshan, an official from Ganderbal said.

Jammu, June 30: The second batch of 5771 Shri Amarnath pilgrims on Thursday left the holy base camp for the holy cave from Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas here.
An official said out of total 5771 pilgrims, 4382 males, 1156 females, 38 children, 189 sadhus and six transgenders left the base camp in a fleet of 231 vehicles.
The vehicles comprised 127 buses and 104 light motor vehicles.

JAMMU, June 30: A division bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Javed Iqbal Wani imposed special penalty of Rs 10 lacs on R&B department on account of violation of the right to property of the petitioner which is guaranteed by the Constitution.
