3rd batch of over 6,600 pilgrims leaves Jammu base camp | Amarnath Yatra | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 30: A third batch of 6,619 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu in two separate convoys to join the annual Amarnath pilgrimage in the Kashmir Himalayas, officials said on Sunday.
About 14,000 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine located at a height of 3,880 metres on the first day of the 52-day annual yatra, which commenced from the twin tracks of Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district on Saturday, the officials said.
The third batch, including 1,141 women, left in 319 vehicles between 3:50 am and 4:45 am amid tight security.

SRINAGAR, June 30: Security forces on Sunday launched a cordon and search operation following the movement of “suspected people” in the higher reaches of Gulmarg tourist resort in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

JAMMU, June 30: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday conducted searches at multiple locations in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the Reasi terror attack case.
The searches led to the seizure of various items showing linkages between the terrorists and overground workers (OGWs), a statement issued by the NIA said.
Terrorists had opened fire at a bus carrying ‘yatris’ from Shiv Khori to Katra on the evening of June 9 in the Pouni area of Reasi district, causing the bus to fall into a nearby gorge, killing nine people, including a child.
