Jammu, July 11: After IAS officer Shah Faesal withdrew his petition challenging Article 370, former student union leader of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Shehla Rashid also followed his footsteps.
Shehla Rashid withdrew her petition as the Supreme Court decided to begin a day-to-day hearing on the scrapping of Article 370 from August 2.
Former vice-president of the JNU Students’ Union, Shehla Rashid, had also joined Faesel to oppose the Centre’s decision to strike off Article 370.
Shehla Rashid first came to the limelight during the protest demanding the release of Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid, arrested on charges of sedition in 2016.
Pertinently, a five-judge Constitution Bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, and Surya Kant on Tuesday said the hearing of the pleas will be on a day-to-day basis except Mondays and Fridays. Kishtwar, July 11: Intensifying its crackdown on Pakistan sponsored terror eco system, SIU unit of Kishtwar Police today carried out the raids at the residences of 4 terrorist commanders operating from Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
Today’s raid was the 2nd such operation in last one week wherein Kishtwar Police conducted the searches and seized the electronic gadgets from the family members of the terrorists. Srinagar, July 11: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday cracked down once again on the newly-floated offshoots of proscribed Pakistan-backed terror outfits operating in Jammu and Kashmir and conducted raids at five locations in south Kashmir, officials said.
The raids were conducted in the three districts of Anantnag, Shopian and Pulwama in the Kashmir valley, and the agency seized several digital devices containing massive incriminating data.
