9155 devotees visit holy cave, over 1.4 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance till date | Amarnath Yatra | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 12: On Wednesday 9155 Amarnath devotees paid obeisance at the Holy Cave taking total to 146508 yatries who performed darshan since July 01.
Among the yatries who visited Shri Amarnathji Cave today were 6995 males, 1918 females, 122 children and120 sadhus.
Thousands of amarnath yatris traverse mountainous routes along Pahalgam and Baltal axis with much fervor to perform darshan at Holy Cave. To make this religious pilgrimage of Amarnath yatries a memorable & life time experience, around 30 government departments are providing their services relentlessly. The officers and officials are making strenuous efforts to extend essential services & basic amenities at every destination to pilgrims.

7805 pilgrims leave Jammu base camp | | |

Jammu, July 12: Amid the chants of 'Bam Bam Bhole', a fresh batch of 7805 pilgrims left on Wednesday for Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine here from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp.
After remaining suspended for three days, the yatra resumed from Jammu on Tuesday. The yatra was suspended due to repair work on roads damaged by rains at Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
An official said that a batch of 7805 pilgrims left the base camp in a convoy of 339 vehicles.
As many as 4,677 pilgrims left for Pahalgam in a convoy of 207 vehicles, and 3,128 pilgrims left for the Baltal in a convoy of 132 vehicles. ... | |

Srinagar, July 12: Director General of the Border Security Force Nitin Agrawal on Wednesday lauded the high level of professionalism of the BSF and exhorted them to remain alert for any eventuality during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY).
DG BSF Agrawal said this during his interaction with BSF men at Panjtarni in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
The DG was on a three-day visit to Kashmir, where he reviewed the security arrangements for the Yatra.
At least 1,40,000 pilgrims have visited the Cave shrine since the Yatra began on July 1.

Srinagar, July 12: Security forces arrested five terrorist associates in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district, police said on Wednesday.
They said the five were associated with Lashakr-e-Taiba. They were arrested by a joint team of police and Army's 62 Rashtriya Rifles in Khag area of Budgam.
Police identified the five as Rouf Ahmad Wani, Hilal Ahmad Malik, Tawfeeq Ahmad Dar, Danish Ahmad Dar and Showkat Ali Dar- residents of various villages in Khag.
