Jammu, July 13: Although Kashmir centric political parties made every attempt to instigate people, residents of Kashmir Valley avoid observing ‘martyrs day’ today.
Instead of responding to the calls of the separatists and Kashmir centric parties, people preferred to do their routine work as there was no taker of such appeals of these parties.
Kashmir-centric parties used social media to rake up sentiments of the people but to no avail. The majority of the people avoided such attempts of the Kashmir-centric groups.
Earlier first-time after 1948, no official function was held on July 13 in the year 2020in J&K as the administration of the Union Territory (UT) had already dropped ‘Martyrs’ Day’ and Sheikh Abdullah’s birth anniversary from the list of holidays for the year 2020.

SRINAGAR, July 13: The Government on Tuesday informed that 143 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 51 from Jammu division and 92 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 318991.
Also 01 COVID-19 death has been reported from Jammu Division.
Moreover, 416 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 226 from Jammu Division and 190from Kashmir Division.

Srinagar, July 13: Traffic movement will remain suspended on Wednesday on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in view of weekly maintenance and repair work.
A traffic police official said this evening that in view of the maintenance of the highway, no vehicle will be allowed from Srinagar or Jammu on Wednesday on the only all weather road connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.
He said the Union Territory (UT) administration has decided to allow National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to undertake necessary maintenance and repair work of the road on every Wednesday.
