Srinagar, July 13: Fresh batches of about 12000 yatries left the twin base camps this morning onwards to pay obeisance at the Cave shrine of Amarnath in Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.
The “Charri Mubarak” or silver mace of Lord Shiva has been taken to Pahalgam by the custodian Mahant Deependra Giri from the Dashnami Akhara Srinagar on the occasion of Ashad Purnima to perform pooja there.
More than 1.35 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave shrine of Amarnath till Wednesday morning.
About 3000 yatries including women and Sadhus left Nunwan base camp from the traditional Pahalgam route in south Kashmir's Anantnag district this morning onwards to the cave shrine amid cloudy weather conditions.
The yatries were also allowed to proceed from the halting points of Chandanwanwari and Panjtarni towards the cave to pay obeisance there.

Jammu, July 13: Amid tight security, the 14th batch of 6,400 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims on Wednesday here left for twin base camps of the 3,880-metre-high holy cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, officials said.
The yatra, which was suspended from Jammu due to bad weather on Sunday, resumed on Monday. A flash flood triggered by a cloudburst near the cave shrine on Friday afternoon has led to the death of at least 16 people. Around 40 are still missing.
A total of 6,415 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas here in a convoy of 258 vehicles amid heavy security of CRPF, the officials said.

New Delhi, July 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the government's decision to administer free booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines to all citizens aged above 18 will further India's vaccination coverage and create a healthier country.
As part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, free booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be administered to all citizens above the age of 18 at government vaccination centres from July 15 for the next 75 days, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said after the Union Cabinet gave its nod to the drive earlier in the day.

SRINAGAR, July 13: The Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department has revised and notified the non-gazetted recruitment rules of the Sub-ordinate services.
The J&K Health and Medical Education (Subordinate) Services Recruitment Rules, 1992 were last notified vide SRO 20 of 1992 dated: 24.02.1992 and have now been revised after 30 years.

JAMMU, July 13: In the much publicized killing of four unarmed Indian Air Force (IAF) officers in Kashmir in 1990 in which TADA court had framed charges against Yasin Malik, Ali Mohammad Mir, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi alias Mustafa, Javed Ahmed Mir alias Nalka, Nana Ji alias Saleem, Javed Ahmed Zarger and Shoukat Ahmed Bakshi, Malik sought his physical appearance to cross examine the witnesses.

Jammu, July 13: Alert troops of Indian Army has successfully foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials.
Jammu-based Defence PRO Lt Col Devender Anand early morning on Wednesday said that during the midnight hours of July 12-13, there was an infiltration attempt along LoC in the Poonch sector.
"The infiltration bid was suitably foiled by our alert troops," he said, adding that more details are to be followed.

Srinagar, July 13: National Investigation Agency is carrying out raids at multiple places in South Kashmir in connection with Sunjwan Jammu encounter in which two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants and a CISF trooper were killed in April this year.
