BJP eyes Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, senior leader asked to begin groundwork | | |

Jammu, July 14: To achieve the target of winning at least three out of five Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir, a senior BJP leader has been asked to start work on the Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency to achieve the task.
Highly placed sources said that BJP leadership has devised a strategy to win the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat this time to mark its presence in Kashmir.
Instead of giving the mandate to the leader from Kashmir to contest this seat, BJP has decided to field Poonch-Rajouri based strong candidate on this seat to play the regional card during the elections.
The senior leader, who is frequently visiting Kashmir, especially in south Kashmir, is a native of the Pir-Panchal belt which is now part of the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.
As reported earlier by the Early Times BJP leadership is going to field a strong Poonch-Rajouri-based leader on Anantnag seats to win this Parliamentary constituency to create history.

Jammu, July 14: Amid the demand of the educated unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir to conduct examinations of the posts for which recruitments have been cancelled following bunglings, the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu has withdrawn over posts which were advertised in the year 2022.
As per the notification issued by the Registrar of the SKUAST-Jammu posts which were advertised since 2022 have been withdrawn.

Bandipora, July 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday booked a former terrorist and member of APHC under Public Safety Act (PSA) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Bandipora police in a Tweet, said that Ameer Hamza, an ex-terrorist, from Quilmuqam village was involved in anti-national activities.

SRINAGAR, July 14: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday said that they have arrested two Kashmiri Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in connection with Jammu and Kashmir terror conspiracy case. The accused were identified as Mushaib Fayaz Baba alias Shoaib (20) and Hilal Yaqoob Deva alias Sethi Soab (35), residents of district Shopian. Mushlaib and Hilal have been allegedly working for Pak-based commanders and handlers of proscribed terrorist organisations, such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its shadow outfit The Resistance Front (TRF), among others.

Jammu, July 14: A local court on Friday deferred the hearing in a case related to the killing of four IAF officers by terrorists in 1990 after a key accused, Mohammad Rafiq Pahloo alias 'Nanaji', was arrested by the Srinagar police along with nine others for conspiring to revive separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Sriharikota, (AP), July 14: India's third moon mission Chandrayaan-3 will attempt the technically challenging soft landing on the lunar surface on August 23, ISRO Chairman S Somanath said on Friday.
Addressing reporters after the successful launch of the estimated Rs 600 crore mission, Somanath said the craft's insertion into the lunar orbit has been planned from August 1. The soft landing was planned at 5.47 pm on August 23, more than a month after Chandrayaan 3 took off from the spaceport here piggybacking on the heavylift LVM3-M4 rocket, he added.

Srinagar, July 14: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday appointed Braj Raj Sharma, retired IAS officer, as the State Election Commissioner.
According to an order, in exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to sub-section (3) of section 36 of the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989, the Lieutenant Governor is pleased to appoint Braj Raj Sharma, IAS (Retd.) as State Election Commissioner for Jammu and Kashmir.
The order reads that he shall hold the position of State Election Commissioner till he attains the age of sixty five years.
